The 29th event of the Sports Studies Center (SCM) Seminar Series titled “Innovative Ideas in Football and the Near Future” took place.
In the 29th event of the SCM Seminar Series, which has been organized in many areas where sports and social sciences intersect, this time the topic “Innovative Ideas in Football and the Near Future” was discussed. Emir Güney, Director of Sports Studies Center, was a speaker at the event held at Kadir Has University Cibali Campus.
In the interactive seminar, Emir Güney first touched upon the historical background of the rules applied in football. Then, Güney gave information about the methods followed by FIFA and IFAB in creating the rules, and shared this information with the participants, as well as the implementation processes of the rule changes, and gave examples of the reflection of developing technology on the fields. In the last part of the event, opinions were shared about what rules might change in the football world in the future and what kind of innovations might come.
