The first session of the “Play Forward – Sustainability in Sport Seminar Series” (a collaboration between Kadir Has University Sports Studies Centre and the football-strategy initiative LOBA) was successfully held.
The session, titled “Sustainability: Trend or Real Transformation?”, took place on Saturday, 25 October 2025, at the Cibali Campus of Kadir Has University, in the Cibali Hall.
The interdisciplinary discussion brought together leading voices from sport management, league representation, academic law, sustainability consultancy, and audit services to explore the extent to which environmental and social sustainability is embedded in the sport ecosystem as a long-term transformation rather than a passing trend.
The session was open to the public and followed a two-step registration/donation model: free participation with compulsory online registration, and an invitation to contribute a donation to one of several non-governmental organisations actively working in sustainability.
The initiative aims not only to promote knowledge sharing within sport and sustainability but also to catalyze networking and concrete social impact contributions in Turkey’s sports ecosystem.
